Antique Chest of Drawers #0461

Fabulous bow-fronted chest of drawers.

English, circa 1840.

Beautifully figured mellow mahogany with restrained ebony stringing inlaid around top, on top, and to skirt. Inset turnings to two front corners and splayed feet. Top has old ink stain; handles have been replaced (late 1800s); drawers are oak lined and beautifully dovetailed; sides are elm (one side has crack in grain). Overall condition is excellent.
