Both Cannon and Easter Island chimney pots are quite scarce but can still be found
in the midlands of England on contemporary as well as traditional homes. The "Easter Island"
is so called because its scooped louvers give it the appearance of the famous standing stone
faces found on those islands. Like all English chimney pots they were moulded from terracotta,
before being given a rich "salt glaze" during their firing in a kiln.
For the next century, each pot weathered in its own particular way. Even pots that stood
next to each other on a chimney stack for a hundred years or more developed their own distinctive
characters. Each one is unique; their appearance mellowed by age and history.
Most Cannon Chimney Pots stand between 48 - 66 inches.
Most Easter Island Chimney Pots stand between 42 - 54 inches.
